My husband and I recently went to Las Vegas. My husband loves Vegas, so we usually go at least once a year. I am not a big gambler, so I mostly play the slots and occasionally Three card poker with my husband. There are a lot of things to do in Vegas though that don't require gambling. When we stay on The Strip, we stay at the Luxor Hotel & Casino. The main part of the hotel is the pyramid, and the interior decor is Egyptian inspired. The casino has several shows running year-round and a couple of museum exhibits; Titanic exhibit, Bodies Exhibit and the King Tut exhibit. The Luxor is situated between the Mandalay Bay and Excalibur hotel & casinos. These casinos are connected by interior walkways that feature shops and food and beverage venues. There is also a tram for easy flow between the casinos. For anyone staying on The Strip, a walk down the strip is a must. It is a long walk so be sure to pack your comfortable walking shoes. Up and down the Strip are multiple shops, restaurants and other hotel & casinos to visit. There is a Monorail that runs the length of The Strip from the MGM Grand down to the Sahara Las Vegas if you don't want to explore on foot. Each hotel and casino feature different themes and shopping/ activities. Some must see locations are The Fountains and Conservatory/ Botanic Gardens at The Bellagio, The Forum at Caeser's Palace, The Eiffel Tower at Paris hotel & casino, and the Gondola rides at The Venetian. On The Strip there is also a Netflix store with each room decorated from scenes of Stranger Things. To beat the heat of summer on this trip, I rented a cabana by the pool. The pool area was great, we had our own person waiters for food and drinks and were able to relax in the pool all day.
Another must-see place in Vegas is Fremont Street downtown. We typically stay at the Golden Nugget when we stay downtown. They have an aquarium in the swimming pool area. You can rent cabanas at the pool as well. They have a nice adult only pool area upstairs from the main pool. It is smaller and much quieter than the main pool area. Fremont Street is completely walkable and only a few miles long. At night they close off the side streets to vehicle traffic and host free concerts on several different stages up and down the street. If you walk all the way to the El Cortez Hotel and Casino, you can find a few coin-operated slot machines. The last of their kind in Vegas. One of our favorite places to eat is Mickie Finnz Fish House & Bar. They are across the street from the Heart Attack Grill. They have an outdoor seating area on a raised deck. We love to sit there and eat and have a few drinks. It is a great place to people watch and their food is pretty good as well. The one attraction I enjoy is the Slotzilla zipline. There are 2 options for the zipline, one you sit in a swing type harness, and it runs about halfway down Fremont Street, the other is the superhero zipline. This zipline runs the entire length of Fremont Street and you fly down on your stomach. I highly recommend doing the superhero but either one that you choose to schedule your ziplie experience at night. The lights and crowds of people are amazing after dark! There are also several excursion tour options to the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon. There is so many things to do and see in Vegas I can't list them all here!
