This month my husband and I along with some friends took an adventure on a Royal Caribbean Cruise. We sailed on the Mariner of the Seas from Galveston to Costa Maya and Cozumel. We took this same itinerary last year but sailed on the Voyager of the Seas. The Mariner of the Seas was a beautiful ship! Similar in size and style to the Voyager of the Seas, but with a few additional bars and restaurants. We had a balcony stateroom on deck 8 which was perfect for drinking coffee and enjoying the sunrise each morning. We spent our sea days at the adult only Serenity pool area. In Costa Maya we decided to explore the port instead of an organized excursion. The port is nice, but it felt very crowded with the number of ships that were in port. The Carnival Jubilee and the MSC Seashore were also in port while we were in Costa Maya. We arrived in Costa Maya around noon, so our group headed off the ship to have lunch in the port. We ate at a wonderful restaurant in the port. The food was delicious, and the service was very excellent. After lunch we did some shopping before returning to the ship and enjoying the pool. Our second port was Cozumel. My husband and I decided to try a Tequila Mixology excursion in Cozumel. The excursion was at the Dolphin encounter location, so we were able to see the dolphins as well. The excursion was very well organized and entertaining. We had our own "bar" station, and each person made their own drinks while the instructor talked us through and demonstrated the proper way to mix Margaritas. Our mixologist was amazing! I am not a fan of margaritas, but I really enjoyed this experience. I highly recommend trying this excursion for anyone of age! We had a great time on our cruise. Even though we had visited the same ports before we did different activities and had different experiences.
